The Winnipeg Data Consortium purchases consistent socio-economic data from national sources, including the Census, for locally defined geographies, such as Winnipeg’s neighbourhoods and Manitoba’s Regional Health Authorities. This supports government and community groups/departments in policy analysis, research, and evidence-based decision-making. Members of the Consortium share the costs of this data, while also sharing information on how it can be used and shared with the broader community. The SPCW uses data to create Poverty Profiles and other socio-economic analysis.
