POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the After School Program (ASP) Co-Managers, the Youth and Family Program Support Worker (YFSW) is a skilled and self-motivated individual committed to IRCOM’s mission and mandate. This staff has significant experience working with newcomer children, youth and families and has demonstrated training and skills to provide enhanced supports for those facing complex challenges. The YFSW excels at building relationships with newcomer children, youth and adults, and works effectively with all members of the family to engage them in coordinated supports. POSITION SUMMARY: The PSW will empower children and youth in program, and engage them in recreational, leadership, social, outreach, educational and integration activities. This staff has a gift for building meaningful relationships with children and youth and finds creative ways to provide day-to-day supports and encouragement. With guidance and support from the ASP Co-Managers and the Lead Program Support Worker, the Program Support Worker will refine and further develop IRCOM’s After School Program. POSITION SUMMARY: Under the supervision of the After School Program Co-Managers, the Inclusion Support Worker (ISW) will provide individualized support to newcomer children and youth who face barriers to inclusion in IRCOM’s After School Programs, and education and support to their parents/guardians. The ISW will focus on those children and youth prioritized by IRCOM and will not focus on those already receiving supports from other agencies. The ISW will work closely with the new Inclusion Support Team: Social Workers, Youth and Family Support Workers, Community Resource Program Manager, the ASP Co-Managers and the ISWs.
